Applying For A Marijuana Producers License Under MMPR

Under the MMPR Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations governed by Health Canada, there have been many companies already approved and given a license to grow marijuana for medical purposes. The application process to obtain a license to produce marijuana takes about ten weeks once a completed application is provided to Health Canada.

In order to apply and become a licensed producer of medical marijuana in Canada, the applicant must demonstrate compliance with the requirements outlined in the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMPR).

Any individual or corporation can apply for a license, the following application form to become a licensed producer under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (MMRP) must be completed in full and forwarded to Health Canada.

As you can imagine, security around growing marijuana for medical purposes for a licensed producer is taken very seriously by Health Canada and the federal government. As part of the application process, individuals of key positions in the company applying for a production license will be required to seek a security clearance as specified in the regulations.  If you are concerned about the security check, we suggest you fill the form out first before you apply for the license.
